Don is a skilled attorney who provides business-minded, value-added legal counsel while helping clients meet business needs and manage legal and commercial risk.

He brings a practical, commercially focused approach when structuring and negotiating complex transactions related to information technology. Prior to joining Bortstein Legal Group, Don served as in-house counsel at leading financial services institutions, including Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and Bear Stearns. Before his in-house career, he practiced technology law as an associate with Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner.

Don has extensive experience with a wide variety of technology transactions, including the development, licensing, and distribution of software, data, financial indices, market data, open-source code and content, trademarks, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property. His client-service mentality guides the many outsourcing, procurement, services, consulting, SaaS, AI, and cybersecurity engagements that he shepherds for his clients, as well as the data security and privacy issues that often arise from such commercial transactions.

Don received his JD from Brooklyn Law School, and BA from the State University of New York College at Brockport.
