Complaints: Bortstein LLP wants to give its clients the best possible service. However, if at any point clients become unhappy or concerned about the service, which Bortstein LLP has provided then a client should inform Bortstein LLP immediately, so that Bortstein LLP can do our best to resolve the problem. In the first instance, a client may find it helpful to contact the person who is working on its matters to discuss concerns and Bortstein LLP will do its best to resolve any issues. If a client would like to make a formal complaint, then a client should contact the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice of Bortstein LLP at the address above. If a client makes a complaint, the complaint will not adversely affect how Bortstein LLP handles a matter for that client. Bortstein LLP will endeavour to respond to a complaint within 72 hours or as soon as possible. A client will not be charged for the handling of a complaint.

Legal Ombudsman for consumer complaints:Bortstein LLP does not anticipate acting for clients who are consumers.  If the matter is still not resolved, you may be entitled to ask the Legal Ombudsman (LeO) of England and Wales to consider the complaint. LeO can help clients who are consumers if Bortstein LLP is unable to resolve a complaint from a consumer itself. LeO will look at a complaint from a consumer client independently and it will not affect how Bortstein LLP handles the consumer client’s case. Before accepting a complaint for investigation, LeO will check that a consumer client has tried to resolve its complaint with Bortstein LLP first. A complaint to LeO must normally be made within six months of the date of the conclusion of Bortstein LLP’s complaints procedure and no more than six years from the date of the act/omission, or no more than three years from when the consumer client should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint. Complaints to the SRA relating to behaviour:
The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help if a person is concerned about behaviour of Bortstein LLP. This could be for things like dishonesty, taking or losing money or treating a client unfairly because of age, a disability or other characteristic. Bortstein LLP does not currently offer services to individuals and has no plans to do so: Bortstein LLP focuses on corporates; Bortstein LLP does not advise individuals on conveyancing, wills or probate, immigration, representation at tribunals or representation at court. Bortstein LLP is unfortunately not in a position to recommend any legal advisers who may be able to advise on such matters.
