Christian is a data privacy, cybersecurity and technology lawyer bringing a blend of compliance advisory and transactional expertise. Complementing the diversity of his skill set, Christian is a dual-qualified attorney licensed to practice in England and Wales as well as the US (TN, TX), making him an ideal advisor to US-based organizations operating in UK/Europe and vice versa.

Joining Bortstein Legal Group from an Am Law 100 firm, Christian has honed his practice working on compliance projects and transactional matters at a global level for some of the world’s largest and most well-recognized brands across a diverse range of sectors. Having advised clients on everything from complex financial services to connected cars, as a qualified lawyer he has also worked on completed transactions with a combined value in excess of $5 billion.

Beyond his time in private practice, Christian has invaluable in-house experience. He previously served as in-house counsel at a private equity house with a remit of advising across privacy, financial regulation compliance and commercial matters and, more recently, has also been seconded as senior privacy counsel to two global organizations in the financial services sector, including covering the role of DPO (EMEA).

Prior to admission as an attorney, Christian received his undergraduate law degree from the University of Nottingham, School of Law (LLB (Hons)) before being awarded his LLM by the University of Texas (at Austin), School of Law and going on to successfully complete the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. Christian is a member of the Society for Computers and Law and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
