Kathy Varker 

Kathy Varker is an accomplished attorney who has wideranging experience negotiating a variety of technology, intellectual property, and services agreements including IP and IT licensing, IT development and business process outsourcing transactions, software-as-a-service, as well as professional services, hardware purchase and maintenance, and white label reseller and integrated services agreements. 

As lead counsel supporting IT and procurement at McGraw Hill, Kathy helped shape efficient and effective solutions for her clients relating to information technology, intellectual property licensing and other commercial transactions that are core to business operations. 

Before moving in-house, Kathy practiced at Lowenstein Sandler for nine years, where she specialized in intellectual property, technology transactions, and privacy.  Kathy began her career in publishing, where she licensed subsidiary rights and negotiated contracts for several publishing houses including Farrar, Straus, and Giroux.  She is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and Muhlenberg College. 

Kathy has obtained the Certified Information Privacy Professional/IT (CIPP/IT) credential in privacy laws and regulations.
